Donate to help kids graduate ready for the world!
A lot like the hurricane relief fundraiser we had in 2019, this market will feature goods made by YOU (or people you rope into making something) for sale. Perfected your sourdough starter during quarantine? Have a bunch of extra zucchini you don’t know what to do with? Have some special pottery skills no one knew about (Toby)? We wanna buy it! Like our previous market, prices are decided by you, the purchaser.
Proceeds from the market will benefit the Northside Achievement Zone, an organization dedicated to helping children of color improve their readiness for kindergarten, their reading and math proficiency and prepare them to graduate on time and college-ready. As a committee, we chose NAZ because of their commitment to education — what we feel is a critical component to lasting and meaningful change.

Photo cards

Two cups. One a little bigger than the other, somehow.
Glazed on the inside, unglazed on the outside. Small black glaze smudge on the inside of one rim, visible in photo. Oops! Gives it character. Food safe. Taxonomy unknown. Pot, cup, vessel, just an object with a hole in one end?
Scientists unsure. Drop shadow not included. Piano black glaze. Food safe. This is either square or round, depending on how you look at it. Either way you can put stuff in it probably. Satin-textured cobalt blue glaze. Food safe.

Straight sided bowl thing. It’s nice. Put it in your house and look at it.
MN Iron Oxide glaze gives it enticingly varied coloration. Food safe, if you’re into that. Small cups. Could be good for tiny tea drinking, or large shot drinking, depending on how you’re coping with 2020.
Perhaps fill with tequila and call them the Three Caballeros. Piano black glaze. Food safe. Yep, that’s a planter. There’s a hole in the bottom for drainage, so keep that in mind.
It once had a drainage platter that was to match, but it went out to sea and never returned. Sad story. Burnt umber brushed-on glaze; inside unglazed. |
Tea candle/incense holder, piano black glaze. Food safe. Also fire safe up to approximately 1500 degrees, then things get dicey.
Definitely intended from the beginning to be a spoon rest. Definitely not just a small plate that almost died because I’m clumsy.
Satin-textured cobalt blue glaze. Food safe. Two small cups of similar size. Outside glazed in piano black, inside is clear glaze with a cool drippy thing happening.
Totally did that on purpose. Recommended retail value: ten thousand dollars. Food safe. |

NORTHSIDE Achievement Zone
The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) exists to permanently close the achievement gap and end generational poverty in North Minneapolis. Together with our partner organizations, we are walking side by side with low-income families as they put their children on a path to college.
NAZ has a game-changing approach that is closing the achievement gap. NAZ’s wraparound framework effectively supports low-income children of color so that they will graduate from high school prepared for college.
